Configuring Entourage 2008:
- Open Entourage.
- Open the Tools menu and choose Accounts.
- Click on New.
- If the Account Setup Assistant window appears, click the Configure Account Manually button.
- Select IMAP from the Account type drop-down list and click OK.
- Enter an Account Name which you will use to identify the account (such as "onid.orst.edu" or "ONID email").
- Enter your Name the way you want other people to see when they receive your email.
- Enter your Email Address in the form username@onid.orst.edu
- Enter your ONID username in the Account ID field.
- The IMAP server name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
- Click the Click here for advanced receiving options button.
- Check the This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL) box and close the window.
- The SMTP server name is mail.oregonstate.edu
NOTE: If you are not on campus and sending mail does not work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Server. - Click the Click here for advanced sending options button.
- Check the SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL) button.
- Check the SMTP server requires authentication box.
- Check the Use same settings as receiving mail server box and close the window.
- Click OK.
- Enter your ONID password when prompted.
- Close the Accounts window.
Entourage is now configured to check your mail!
