ONID - OSU Network ID

Configuring Eudora:

• Eudora 7 for Windows
• Eudora 6 for Mac OS X

Eudora 7.x for Windows:

1. Open Eudora.
2. Open the Tools menu and choose Options.
3. Click on Getting Started from the left menu.
4. Enter your Real name the way you want other people to see when they receive your email.
5. Enter your Email address in the form username@onid.orst.edu
6. The Mail Server (Incoming) name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
7. Enter your ONID username in the User Name field.
8. The SMTP Server (Outgoing) name is mail.oregonstate.edu
   NOTE: If you are not on campus and sending mail does not work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Server.
9. Click on Checking Mail from the left menu.
10. Select Required, STARTTLS from the Secure Sockets when Receiving drop-down list.
11. Click on Incoming Mail from the left menu.
12. Select IMAP as the Server configuration.
13. Click on Sending Mail from the left menu.
14. Select Required, STARTTLS from the Secure Sockets when Sending drop-down list.
15. Click on OK.

Eudora is now configured to check your mail!

Eudora 6.x for Mac OS X:

1. Open Eudora.
2. Open the Special menu and choose Settings.
3. Click on Getting Started from the left menu.
4. Enter your ONID username in the User Name field.
5. The Mail Server name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
6. Enter your Real Name the way you want other people to see when they receive your email.
7. The SMTP Server name is mail.oregonstate.edu
   NOTE: If you are not on campus and sending mail does not work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Server.
8. Enter your Email Address in the form username@onid.orst.edu
9. Click on Checking Mail from the left menu.
10. Check the IMAP box for Mail Protocol.
11. Click on SSL from the left menu.
12. Select Required (TLS) from the SSL for SMTP drop-down list.
13. Select Required (TLS) from the SSL for IMAP drop-down list.
14. Click OK.

Eudora is now configured to check your mail!
