Using Eudora 4.x for Windows

  1. Open Eudora
  2. Open the Tools menu and choose Options
  3. At the left of the window click Getting Started
  4. Set your Real name. This is how people will see your name on your emails.
  5. The Return address should be the email address you want people to reply to you at
  6. Set the Mail Server (Incoming) to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
  7. The Loginname should be your ONID username
  8. Set the SMTP Server (Outgoing) to mail.oregonstate.edu
    NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
  9. Click on Okay and you're ready to get your e-mail!

Using Eudora 4.x for Macintosh

  1. Open Eudora
  2. Open the Special menu and choose Settings
  3. At the left of the window click Getting Started
  4. Set your Real name. This is how people will see your name on your emails.
  5. The Username should be your ONID username
  6. Set the Mail host to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
  7. The Return address should be the email address you want people to reply to you at
  8. Make sure that Offline is unchecked
  9. Click Hosts at the left of the window
  10. Set the Mail host to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
  11. Set the SMTP host to mail.oregonstate.edu
    NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
  12. Everything else can be left blank
  13. Click Okay. You can now check your email!
