ONID - OSU Network ID

Configuring Eudora 5:

• Windows
• Macintosh

Eudora 5.x for Windows:

1. Open Eudora.
2. Open the Tools menu and choose Options.
3. At the left of the window click Getting Started.
4. Set your Real name. This is how people will see your name on your emails.
5. The Return address should be the email address you want people to reply to you at, typically username@onid.orst.edu (where username is your ONID username).
6. Set the Mail Server (Incoming) to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu.
7. The Login Name should be your ONID username
8. Set the SMTP Server (Outgoing) to mail.oregonstate.edu.
   NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
9. At the left of the window click Incoming Mail
10. Select the IMAP option for Server configuration.
11. Click on OK
12. Eudora is now configured to check your mail!

Configure Eudora 5 to use the OSU Online Directory

Eudora 5.x for Macintosh:

1. Open Eudora
2. Open the Special menu and choose Settings
3. At the left of the window click Getting Started
4. The Username should be your ONID username
5. Set the Mail Server to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
6. Set your Real name. This is how people will see your name on your emails.
7. Set the SMTP Server to mail.oregonstate.edu
   NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
8. The Return address should be the email address where you want people to send replies, normally username@onid.orst.edu (where username is your ONID username).
9. At the left of the window click Checking Mail
10. Click the box next to IMAP
11. Uncheck the Save password box.
12. At the left of the window click SSL
13. For SSL for IMAP select Required (Alternate Port) from the pulldown menu.
14. Click OK.
15. Eudora is now configured to check your mail!
