Configuring iPod Mail:
Make sure you have an active wireless network connection before following these steps.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Click on Add Account...
- Choose Other from the list of account types.
- Enter your Name the way you want other people to see when they recieve your email.
- Enter your Address. This should be in the form username@onid.orst.edu.
- Enter your ONID Password.
- Enter "ONID Mail" as the Description.
- When you have entered all this information, click the Save button.
- Select IMAP as the incoming server type.
- In the Incoming Mail Server area, set Host Name to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu and enter your ONID username and password in the User Name and Password fields.
- In the Outgoing Mail Server area, set Host Name to mail.oregonstate.edu.
NOTE: If you are not on campus and sending mail does not work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server. - Click Save. Your settings will be verified by connecting to the ONID IMAP server.
- Your iPod is now configured to check your mail!
To read your ONID email, click on Mail from the iPod toolbar.
