ONID - OSU Network ID

Configuring iPod Mail:

Make sure you have an active wireless network connection before following these steps.

1. Click on Settings.
2. Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Click on Add Account...
4. Choose Other from the list of account types.
5. Enter your Name the way you want other people to see when they recieve your email.
6. Enter your Address. This should be in the form username@onid.orst.edu.
7. Enter your ONID Password.
8. Enter "ONID Mail" as the Description.
9. When you have entered all this information, click the Save button.
10. Select IMAP as the incoming server type.
11. In the Incoming Mail Server area, set Host Name to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu and enter your ONID username and password in the User Name and Password fields.
12. In the Outgoing Mail Server area, set Host Name to mail.oregonstate.edu.
    NOTE: If you are not on campus and sending mail does not work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
13. Click Save. Your settings will be verified by connecting to the ONID IMAP server.
14. Your iPod is now configured to check your mail!

To read your ONID email, click on Mail from the iPod toolbar.
