ONID - OSU Network ID

Configuring Netscape 7 Mail for Windows/Mac:

1. Open Netscape 7.
2. Open the Windows menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups.
3. Open the Edit menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.
4. Click the Add Account button.
5. Choose Email account and click Next.
6. Enter Your Name the way you want other people to see when they recieve your email.
7. Enter your Email Address. This should be in the form username@onid.orst.edu.
8. Click Next.
9. Select IMAP as the incoming server type.
10. The Incoming Server name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu.
11. The Outgoing Server name is mail.oregonstate.edu.
    NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
12. Click Next.
13. Fill in your ONID User Name and click Next.
14. Enter an Account Name which you will use to identify the account (such as onid.orst.edu or ONID email).
15. Click Next.
16. Verify the information and click Finish.
17. From the list at the left, choose Server Settings.
18. Select the Use secure connection (SSL) checkbox.
19. Click the Advanced button.
20. Uncheck the Show only subscribed folders box and click OK.
21. Click OK to close the Account Settings window.
22. Netscape 7 Mail is now configured to check your mail!
