Configuring Outlook 2000 for Windows:
- Open Outlook 2000.
- Open the Tools menu and choose Accounts...
- Click Add then click Mail...
- Enter your Display name which is the name you want other people to see when they recieve your email. Click Next.
- Enter your E-mail address this should be in the form username@onid.orst.edu where username is your username. Click Next.
- Select the type of incoming Mail server. Select IMAP from the pulldown menu.
- The Incoming mail server (IMAP) name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
- Type in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) name; mail.orst.edu, then click Next.
NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
- Fill in your Account name - your ONID username goes here.
- Enter your Password. Click Next.
- Now fill in your Account name, which you will use to identify the account (such as onid.orst.edu or ONID email).
- Click Finish, and then close the Accounts window.
- Outlook 2000 is now configured to check your mail!
