Configuring Outlook 2007:
- Open Outlook 2007
- Open the Tools menu and choose Account Settings.
- Click the E-mail tab and click New....
- Check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types box and click Next.
- Choose Internet E-mail and click Next.
- Enter Your Name the way you want other people to see when they recieve your email.
- Enter your E-mail Address in the form username@onid.orst.edu.
- Select IMAP from the Account Type drop-down list.
- The Incoming mail server name is imap.onid.oregonstate.edu
- The Outgoing mail server (SMTP) name is mail.oregonstate.edu
NOTE: If you are not on campus, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server.
- Enter your ONID username in the User Name field.
- Uncheck the Remember password box.
- Click the More Settings... button.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab.
- Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box and the Use same settings as my incoming mail server box.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Incoming server (IMAP), select TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down list.
- Under Outgoing server (SMTP), select TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down list.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
