09.04.2007 - Upcoming Changes to personal ONID websites
On Monday September 10th at 10:00am, ONID and Central Web Services will upgrade the servers hosting personal ONID websites (http://oregonstate.edu/~username). During the upgrade, some PHP applications may experience errors due to changes in file permissions.
After the upgrade, PHP websites will run with the full permissions of their owners. This means:
- Users' websites can no longer access each other's files and configurations.
- All files, including image galleries, will be included in users' ONID quotas.
On the backend, PHP will be running as a CGI executable rather than an Apache module.
08.08.2007 - ONID Maintenance Saturday August 11th 8:30am - 9:30am
Maintenance will be performed on the following ONID services Saturday August 11th from 8:30am to 9:30am:
- ONID mail (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu)
During this time, these services will be unavailable. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the maintenance.
Additional memory will be added to the ONID mail servers. Memory in the ONID shell server will be replaced due to memory errors.
06.19.2007 - Webmail Upgrade Saturday June 23rd 8:00am - 8:30am
Webmail will be unavailable Saturday June 23rd from 8:00am to 8:30am. We will be upgrading to the latest version of Horde (http://www.horde.org) Webmail applications (IMP, Kronolith, Turba, Nag, and Mnemo). A few of the big changes are:
- Added Notes (Mnemo) and Tasks (Nag) applications
- Ability to share calendars, create additional calendars
- External calendar client integration (Outlook, Apple iCal, Mozilla Sunbird)
- Customizable portal screen (by default summarizes Mail, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks)
- Additional translations (44 total languages)
- HTML message composition with WYSIWYG editor
- Encrypting and signing of messages (S/MIME and PGP)
- Virtual Mail Folders
04.25.2007 - ONID Maintenance Saturday April 28th 8:00am - 8:15am
Maintenance will be performed on the following ONID services Saturday April 28th from 8:00am to 8:15am:
- ONID Webmail (https://webmail.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID Account Management (creating new ONID accounts, changing passwords, setting mail filters)

During this time, these services will be unavailable. The ONID MySQL server for these services will be restarted to apply some performance related improvements.

01.19.2007 - ONID File and Web Server Outage
The ONID file server (onid-fs) and web server (http://onid.oregonstate.edu) was down today from 1:17pm to 1:34pm. The server gave a kernel panic and rebooted itself. We are looking into the exact cause of the problem.
This affected access to the ONID shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu) and the CWS shell server (access.cws.oregonstate.edu). Also, requests to http://oregonstate.edu/~username were offline, which caused some minor issues with other pages hosted at http://oregonstate.edu.
12.07.2006 - Mail Folder Size Listing
You can now view the size of each of your ONID mail folders! Simply Login to ONID and go to the "Mail Quota" page. You will see your current mail quota, as well as a list of all of your mail folders ordered by size.
11.08.2006 - ONID Mail Downtime Saturday November 11th 8:00am - 8:05am
The ONID mail server, imap.onid.oregonstate.edu, will be unavailable briefly beginning at 8:00am Saturday November 11th. Minor software updates will be applied. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the maintenance.
10.18.2006 - ONID Mail Downtime Saturday October 21st 8:00am - 8:05am
The ONID mail server, imap.onid.oregonstate.edu, will be unavailable briefly beginning at 8:00am Saturday October 21st. Minor software updates will be applied. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the maintenance.
10.05.2006 - ONID Disk Quotas Increased to 1GB
ONID disk quotas have been increased from 500MB to 1GB per user.
09.09.2006 - ONID Downtime Saturday September 9th 1:00am - 3:00am
All ONID services will be unavailable Saturday September 9th from 1:00am to 3:00am. During this time Network Engineering will be making critical network changes which will affect all ONID services. See Network Engineering's notice for more details.

07.25.2006 - ONID Shell Downtime Tuesday July 25th 6:30pm - 6:35pm
The ONID shell server, shell.onid.oregonstate.edu, will be rebooted Tuesday July 25th at 6:30pm to apply a kernel patch which fixes a local kernel exploit. The downtime should be less than 5 minutes.
07.12.2006 - ONID Downtime Saturday July 15th 2:00am - 4:00am
All ONID services will be unavailable Saturday July 15th from 2:00am to 4:00am. During this time Network Engineering will be making critical network changes which will affect all ONID services. See Network Engineering's notice for more details. UPDATE: This downtime has been postponed until a later date due to a family emergency.
06.29.2006 - ONID Mail Quotas Increased to 200MB
ONID mail quotas have been increased from 100MB to 200MB per user.
05.22.2006 - ONID Mail Downtime Saturday May 27th 8:00am - 8:15am
Saturday May 27th at 8am the ONID mail server (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu) will be unavailable for a short time. A configuration change will be made to the mail server in preparation for increasing mail quotas. Incoming mail will be queued and delivered afterwards.
04.19.2006 - ONID Maintenance Saturday April 22nd 8:00am - 8:15am
Saturday April 22nd at 8am the following maintenance will be performed:
Reboot ONID-FS to apply a workaround for a kernel memory leak triggered by Veritas File System on Solaris 10. ONID web pages and access to ONID home directories from FTP, Windows clients, Mac clients, shell.onid.oregonstate.edu, and access.cws.oregonstate.edu will be unavailable during this time.
Reboot the ONID mail server to install a new linux kernel to (hopefully) fix a bug in the ext3 filesystem that has caused 2 crashes recently. Inbound email will be queued and delivered after the reboot.
Reboot the ONID shell server to install a new linux kernel to fix a few local security exploits.
04.18.2006 - ONID Mail Server Crash
The ONID mail server (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu) was unavailable from 11:00am to 11:05am today due to a system crash. Inbound email to ONID addresses was queued and delivered after the crash. Please report any ongoing problems to the OSU Computer Helpdesk.
03.13.2006 - ONID-FS Down Due to Kerr Power Outage
The ONID-FS Windows shares for ONID home directories and ONID web sites (\\ONID-FS\username and \\ONID-FS\public_html) were unavailable from 3:30am to 9:20am. Parts of the OSU network were offline due to a power outage in Kerr from 3:30am to 5:00am. Even after power was restored, there were still lingering effects of the power outages which prevented ONID-FS from working.
02.13.2006 - ONID Mail Downtime February 14th 12:01am - 12:06am
The ONID mail server will be unavailable for approximately 5 minutes tonight from 12:01am to 12:06am. A configuration change will be made to resolve an outstanding issue caused by last Saturday's software upgrade. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the change.
02.08.2006 - Brief ONID Mail Downtime February 11th 8:00am - 8:05am
The ONID mail server will be unavailable briefly (less than 5 minutes) Saturday February 11th at 8am. We will be upgrading to a new version of the Cyrus mail software. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the upgrade.
01.31.2006 - Upgrade to PHP5
Central Web Services will be upgrading the servers that host ONID web pages (at http://oregonstate.edu/~username) from PHP4 to PHP5 on Saturday, February 4th, 2006 at 8:00am.
PHP5 will add several new features in XML handling, MySQL support, object-oriented design, and much more. However, there are some incompatibilities between PHP4 and PHP5 that may break existing code. ONID users can test their sites from on-campus at http://php5.cws.oregonstate.edu/~username to see if the upgrade will break anything.
Please see http://oregonstate.edu/cws/docs/systems/php5migration for details about the migration and possible fixes for errors that may occur.

01.30.2006 - ONID Mail Server Crash
The ONID mail server (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu) was unavailable from 10:33am to 11:00am today due to a system crash. Inbound email to ONID addresses was queued and delivered after the crash. Please report any ongoing problems to the OSU Computer Helpdesk.
01.26.2006 - New Spam Blocking Feature Added
A new feature for blocking spam is now available. People that have enabled Spam Assassin have "likely" spam (email with a spam score higher than 5) filtered into a folder named "junk-mail". Now, you can also choose to have "obvious" spam (email with a spam score higher than 10) blocked entirely. If you choose to block "obvious" spam, it will be deleted entirely and impossible to recover. For most people, we recommend that both of these features be enabled.
01.13.2006 - Brief ONID Mail Downtime January 14th 8:00am - 8:01am
The ONID mail server will be unavailable briefly (less than 1 minute) Saturday January 14th at 8am. A configuration change will be made to the ONID mail server. Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the change.
After this change, Sieve mail filtering rules will be stored on the mail server rather than in ONID home directories. All existing rules will be migrated to the mail server.
Follow these instructions if you wish to modify your Sieve rules by hand. Otherwise, use the existing web interface on ONID which will not be changing.
12.06.2005 - ONID Webmail and SSO Downtime December 10th 8:00am - 9:00am
ONID Webmail and SSO will be unavailable from 8am to 9am on Saturday December 10th. Also during this time, it will not be possible to change your ONID password or signup for an ONID account. The operating system will be upgraded to the latest Debian Linux stable release.
11.22.2005 - ONID Downtime November 26th 8:00am - noon
The ONID file server will be unavailable from 8am to noon on Saturday November 26th for system maintenance. We will be running a full filesystem check on the user home directories to correct some filesystem warnings that occur during defragmentation. During this time the following services will be unavailable:
- ONID-FS (Windows, Macintosh, and FTP access to home directories)
- ONID shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID mail (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID web server (http://onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID personal webpages (http://oregonstate.edu/~username)
- CWS shell server (access.cws.oregonstate.edu by FTP, SFTP, SSH)
Inbound email to ONID addresses will be queued and delivered after the upgrade.
If it is not possible to finish the filesystem check during this window, an additional downtime may be scheduled for Sunday November 27th 8am to noon.
11.10.2005 - OSU Network Outage Sunday November 13th 12:00am - 6:00am
Sunday November 13th starting at 12:01am and lasting until 6:00am the Oregon State University network will be unavailable. A Cisco security advisory was issued for all IOS devices. Network Engineering must upgrade all network equipment running IOS to newer version of IOS. During this time access to ONID services may be interrupted at various times, but ONID itself will be unaffected.
11.07.2005 - ONID Shell Server Downtime Saturday November 12th 9:00am - 10:00am
The ONID shell server, shell.onid.oregonstate.edu, will be unavailable from 9-10am Saturday November 12th. The operating system will be upgraded to the latest Debian Linux stable release. Users should not notice any significant changes.
10.12.2005 - ONID Mail Server Issues 10:00am - 5:30pm
Security updates were applied to the ONID mail server this morning around 10am. The updates caused slowdowns and failed logins during the course of the day. These problems were resolved at 5:30pm.
09.20.2005 - ONID Disk Quotas Increased
ONID disk quotas have been increased from 200MB to 500MB for all users. ONID users can now store up to 500MB in their home directory and personal web site.
09.09.2005 - ONID Downtime September 17th 8:00am - noon
The ONID file server will be upgraded to new hardware on Saturday September 17th from 8am to noon. During this time the following services will be unavailable:
- ONID-FS (Windows, Macintosh, and FTP access to home directories)
- ONID shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID mail (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID web server (http://onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID personal webpages (http://oregonstate.edu/~username)

08.26.2005 - Milne Network Outage August 27th 04:00am - 08:00am
The Milne Computer Center data network will be unavailable from 4:00am to 5:00am on Saturday August 27th. The network switch will be upgraded during this time. The outage is expected to last one hour, but may be extended to four hours if needed. During this time, access to all ONID services will be unavailable.
06.27.2005 - OSU Network Outage June 29th 01:00am - 04:00am
Oregon State University voice and data networks will be unavailable from 1:00 am until 4:00 am on June 29th. The Kerr Administration Building Switch room UPS is being replaced in 2 stages, which will require two power outages. The second outage will be announced when a time has been decided. While the ONID servers will remain online, you will not be able to connect them.
06.24.2005 - ONID Email Downtime Saturday June 25th 12:00am - 12:15am
ONID email will be out of service from midnight to 12:15am on Saturday June 25th while the email server is rebooted. Minor configuration changes will be applied to the server to increase performance. During this time, incoming email will be queued on the mail relays and will be delivered after the server has rebooted. No email will be lost.
06.15.2005 - ONID Email Downtime Saturday June 18th 12:00am - 10:00am
ONID email will be out of service from midnight to 10:00am on Saturday June 18th while the email server is upgraded. During this time, incoming email will be queued on the mail relays and will be delivered after the new server is online.
No email will be lost and you should not notice any difference in your mailbox.
03.13.2005 - ONID Mail Server Downtime Saturday March 12th 11:35pm - 00:30am
While switching power in the rack containing the ONID mail server, one of the two redundant power supplies in the mail server failed, and the ONID mail server rebooted. Unfortunately, the mail server decided to do a full filesystem check afterwards, which took almost 45 minutes.
03.10.2005 - ONID Downtime Saturday March 19th 8:00-8:15am
The ONID file server (onid-fs) will be out of service for approximately 15mins on Saturday March 19th at 8 AM to move it to a new UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply). The following services, which depend on the ONID file server, will be unavailable during that time:
- ONID file server (onid-fs)
- ONID shell server
- ONID ftp server
- ONID mail server (mail will be queued and delivered after the downtime)
- ONID web pages, including personal web pages at http://oregonstate.edu/~username
- Central Web Services shell server
01.03.2005 - PHP Changes on ONID Websites
Due to recent security vulnerabilities in some PHP applications, additional security restrictions have been placed on PHP for ONID websites. These changes are known to affect the popular Gallery application. For the latest information on these changes and their effects, see the Central Web Services website.
11.18.2004 - Pine Upgraded to to v4.61
Pine on shell.onid.oregonstate.edu has been upgraded from v4.58 to v4.61. One very useful new feature is the ability to export/archive an entire mail folder. Simply highlight the folder from the Folder List and press "E". For a complete list of changes between versions, see the Pine website. Contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk if you have any problems or questions about the new version.
10.11.2004 - Shell Server Network Outage
Due to a configuration error on the OSU network firewall, shell.onid.oregonstate.edu lost network connectivity from 11:52am to 12:18pm today.
10.07.2004 - Network Outage
Due to a configuration error while enabling new services on a core network switch, ONID (and other services) lost network connectivity at 1pm today. The problem was fixed at 1:30pm.
08.13.2004 - Milne Power Outage Again
Milne Computer Center lost power from 6pm yesterday to 1:10am this morning. Most ONID services were restored by 1:30am. Please contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk if you notice any remaining problems.
08.12.2004 - Milne Power Outage
Milne Computer Center experienced a power outage today which nearly exceeded the capacity of our UPS. We began shutting down ONID services towards the end, including shell, webmail, mail, and web services. The longest downtime was approximately 18 minutes, with some services experiencing a shorter downtime. Please contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk if you notice any remaining problems.
08.10.2004 - ONID File Server Downtime
The ONID File Server had an unknown filesystem problem which prevented users from accessing their ONID home directories and web pages from 3:15pm to 4pm today. We are unsure of the root cause of the problem.
07.03.2004 - Pine Upgraded to v4.58
Pine on shell.onid.oregonstate.edu has been upgraded from v4.44 to v4.58. The Pine website maintains a list of changes between versions. Contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk if you have any problems or questions about the new version.
07.01.2004 - ONID Web Database Downtime
On Friday July 2 at 7am, a new version of MySQL (v4.0.20) will be installed on the server that provides databases for personal ONID web pages. If you are using an application that connects to this database server on your personal ONID web site (such as Gallery or phpBB), your application will be unable to connect to the database server at this time. The database server will be down for 10-90 minutes, depending on how well the upgrade goes. This upgrade is necessary to fix a bug in the database server. No major new functionality is included.
05.13.2004 - Scheduled ONID Downtime
The ONID file server (ONID-FS), mail server (imap.onid.oregonstate.edu), shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu), web server (http://onid.oregonstate.edu), and ONID personal web pages (oregonstate.edu/~username) will be unavailable for approximately 15 minutes starting Friday May 14 at 10pm.
I will be rebooting the ONID file server to apply a security change, and this will require stopping services on the ONID mail server, web server, and shell server at the same time. Incoming ONID email will be queued and delivered after the outage.
Other ONID services will be unaffected.
05.06.2004 - Power Outage
On May 6th at approximately 4pm, a power outage caused ONID downtime. Power was restored at 5:20pm, however some ONID services were not fully restored until 10pm. Please contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk if you notice any remaining problems.
03.22.2004 - Network Outage and ONID Downtime
On March 24th, Oregon State University's core network will be out of service for 4 hours starting at 00:01 A.M. and completing at 04:00 A.M. This network outage will also take all the ONID servers out of service because there will be no way to contact them. This includes the ONID file server (ONID-FS), ONID email, ONID Webmail, and ONID web pages. ONID email will queue up at remote sites and be delivered after the outage, so no email will be lost.
10.27.2003 - Hotmail Problems
We have been noticing some intermittent problems with hotmail.com over the past few days. Mail delivery to hotmail.com email addresses can take up to a day at times. This does not happen with other email addresses, so the problem lies with Hotmail itself. Many ONID users forward their email to hotmail.com email addresses. If it is important that you receive your email in a timely manner, we recommend that you do not forward your ONID email to Hotmail. Here are instructions for stopping your ONID email forwarding.
10.20.2003 - ONID Mail Server Rebooted
The ONID mail server was down today from 12:22pm to 12:27pm. No mail was lost. We rebooted to recover from a SCSI I/O error which prevented new mail from being delivered. We are still investigating the cause of the error.
09.17.2003 - Blackboard unavailable til 9-18-03
The migration of course content during our upgrade to Blackboard 6.0 is taking longer than expected. The Blackboard system will be available again Thursday morning (9-18-03).

08.30.2003 - ONID Mail and Shell Migration Complete
The mail and shell server migration is complete.
08.19.2003 - ONID Mail and Shell Migration
On Saturday August 30th, ONID will be migrating to a new mail server and a new shell server. ONID mail services and shell access will be unavailable from 8am to 8pm. No mail will be lost and your ONID email address will not change.
If you are using a personal email client such as Outlook Express, Eudora, or Netscape Mail, you must make sure that the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) is set to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu and the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is set to mail.oregonstate.edu. You should change these settings before August 30th. Complete email client configuration instructions are here.
If you only use ONID Webmail you do not need to change anything.
The ONID shell server is changing from ucs.orst.edu to shell.onid.oregonstate.edu. If you currently telnet or ssh to ucs.orst.edu, you should ssh to shell.onid.oregonstate.edu instead. The new shell server only accepts ssh connections (no telnet).
08.08.2003 - New ONID Shell Server
A new ONID unix shell server is available for your use now. To access the new shell server, ssh to shell.onid.oregonstate.edu and login with your ONID username and password. We intend for this server to replace the unix shell services offered by ucs.orst.edu, so please let us know if any software you need is missing. 07.23.2003 - OSU Dial-Up Outage
The OSU dialup service will be unavailable Friday July 25th from 2am to 5am. OSU's telephone switch will be upgraded at that time and all campus phone lines will be down.
07.15.2003 - UCS Rebooted
UCS (the ONID mail and shell server) was rebooted today at 11:00am. Around 10:50am UCS became unresponsive. We were unable to determine the cause and decided rebooting would be the quickest way to bring UCS back into service. We are still investigating the cause of the problem.
06.27.2003 - New IMAP server name
The ONID IMAP server name has changed from onid.orst.edu to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu. If you are accessing your ONID email using an IMAP client (Netscape, Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Entourage, Mozilla), you should change your Incoming Mail Server name to imap.onid.oregonstate.edu. You can follow the instructions for configuring email clients or contact consulting@oregonstate.edu if you need help. None of your ONID email has changed, only the name of the server you use to access it.
04.22.2003 - MySQL Databases for ONID Web Pages
ONID, in cooperation with Central Web Services, is pleased to announce the availability of MySQL v3.23.51 databases for our users. Each ONID account is allowed to have one MySQL database for use with their ONID personal web pages. To get started, Login to ONID and click on Web Database on the lefthand menu.
04.08.2003 - Power Failure
While testing the fire suppression system in Milne Computer Center, the UPS was inadvertantly shutdown at 9:15am. Power to the entire Milne machine room was lost. Most ONID services were restored by 10am.
03.24.2003 - New Version of ONID Webmail
A new version of ONID Webmail has been installed. Major new features include:
- Session timeout warnings
- New language translations
- Personal distribution lists in the address book
- Ability to import Pine address books into Webmail
03.11.2003 - Unexpected ONID mail server downtime
The ONID mail and shell server (onid.orst.edu/ucs.orst.edu) experienced a disk problem and had to be rebooted. No mail was lost and the server is back up and operating normally.
02.25.2003 - New URL and Features for ONID Web Sites
Central Web Services and ONID are partnering to bring ONID users the next-generation of web hosting tools for use in their personal web space. On March 2nd, 2003 Central Web Services will begin hosting all ONID web pages at http://oregonstate.edu/~username (where 'username' is the ONID username).
Currently, ONID users have personal home pages addressable in the form: http://www.onid.orst.edu/~username. After the change, these addresses will be updated to http://oregonstate.edu/~username. Existing ONID web pages will be seamlessly redirected to the new URL.
The new web server will also offer PHP (a web programming language) for ONID web sites.

02.12.2003 - Out of Office Email Service Added
An Out of Office Email Service has been added to ONID. See the FAQ for more information and instructions on how to use the Out of Office Service.
01.08.2003 - ONID Disk and Mail Quotas Increased
ONID disk quotas have been increased to 200MB soft, 250MB hard. ONID mail quotas have been increased to 25MB soft, 50MB hard. See the Quota documentation for a more complete description of quotas.
12.18.2002 - ONID Scheduled Downtime
Some ONID services will be unavailable Saturday December 21st from 9am to 4pm for system upgrades. The ONID services affected are:

Some ONID services will be unavailable Saturday December 14th from 9am to 5pm for system upgrades. The ONID services affected are:

11.03.2002 - Spam Assassin
Spam Assassin has been upgraded to version 2.43, and the spam threshold has been increased to reduce the amount of non-spam email being identified as spam. Now, Spam Assassin only modifies the headers of the message rather than inserting the spam report in the message body. This was making messages using MIME unreadable.

09.20.2002 - ONID Downtime
Most ONID services were unavailable from 9:45am to 10:30am today. The ONID file server crashed due to a hardware fault, and it was also necessary to reboot the ONID mail server to recover. The hardware fault was reported to the manufacturer. If this fault occurs again, we will replace the affected component.

Spam Assassin has been upgraded to version 2.41.
08.30.2002 - ONID Active Directory Upgrade
The ONID Window NT domain will be upgraded to Active Directory, joining the OSU Active Directory forest, on Sunday September 1st at 10am. The upgrade should take 2 hours, during which time the following ONID services will be unavailable:
- ONID Windows logon authentication
- ONID Windows file shares (\\onid-fs\username and \\onid-fs\public_html)
- ONID password changes
- ONID new account sign up
08.28.2002 - RBL+ Spam Blocking
ONID now uses the RBL+ Spam Blocking service to block known spammers from sending mail through our system. For more information, go to http://www.net.oregonstate.edu/spam/.

05.22.2002 - ONID mail and shell downtime
The ucs.orst.edu portion of ONID will be down for system maintenance between 9 a.m and 12 noon Saturday 25 May 2002. During this time shell account logins and e-mail will not be available.
05.09.2002 - Final Day for ORST
Monday, June 17th will be the final day for ORST accounts. Automatic migration of ORST email and files during ONID new account signup will stop. All email forwarding from ORST accounts (@mailbox.orst.edu) will stop. Email sent to addresses @mailbox.orst.edu will bounce back to the sender.

While repairing the mail server's hard drive failure, ONID mail inboxes were temporarily unavailable from 6:00-7:00pm today. No mail was lost, and inboxes returned after the mail server was rebooted.

03.08.2002 - Mail Filters
A web-based interface to ONID Mail Filters has been added (Login to ONID to use it). This lets you filter mail based on the From address. You can also enable Spam Assassin, which will filter Spam email to a separate folder. You might want to read the FAQ as well.

Mailbox (username@mailbox.orst.edu) accounts will be disabled.

Effective 17 Dec 2001 ONID e-mail (onid.orst.edu or ucs.orst.edu) will not be accessable to an e-mail client using the Post Office Protocol (POP). Customers should switch to using the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP). Some e-mail clients just require reconfiguration to accomplish this. In other cases you may need to switch to a new e-mail client. Information on how to reconfigure your e-mail client can be found to the right. Choose your operating system and then your e-mail program to get instructions.

Notable changes include using your entire email address as your Dial-In login name (username@onid.orst.edu), and quotas will remain as they are (no requests for more disk space will be granted).
